The Flower Art Museum is proud of its partnership with Ons Tweede Thuis, an organisation that has been supporting people with intellectual disabilities in the Amsterdam-Amstelland region for many years.nnBoth organisations are rooted in Aalsmeer and share the belief that everyone can participate in society. Through this partnership, we offer people with disabilities a meaningful workplace in our museum, where they can develop their talents and make a valuable contribution to our visitors' experience.
About Ons Tweede Thuis
Ons Tweede Thuis supports people with intellectual or physical disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury. From more than 80 locations across the region, they provide housing, employment and day activities, always with the aim of helping clients get the best out of themselves.nnTheir vision is clear: everyone can participate in society, in their own way. By encouraging and supporting clients in work and daily activities, valuable connections are created between people with and without disabilities.

In the museum
Working at the Flower Art Museum
Clients of Ons Tweede Thuis work as full team members in two areas of the museum.
The Restaurant
In our museum restaurant, clients of Ons Tweede Thuis work in service and in the kitchen. They welcome guests, serve drinks and dishes, and make sure everyone feels at home. Under the guidance of experienced hospitality staff, they learn the trade and grow in their role.
The Museum Garden
Our museum garden is maintained in part by clients of Ons Tweede Thuis. They help with planting, pruning and caring for the flowers and plants that make our garden so special. Working outdoors among the flowers offers a calming and meaningful day activity.
